I think when the index is down their is no shortage of sellers of anything and individual stocks just get knocked back to where the computers think they should be. It is not a fair market when the bears have control of the indicies and can short the proverbial out of the index when no-one significant is buying (probably the same large off-shore punters who stand astride forex and equity markets). You don't see any small cap stock escaping for more than a few minutes these days.
I think when the index is down their is no shortage of sellers...
