the security industry clearly has to really clean up it's act and culture - if it's possible
as far as boneheads in society go - it's really where leadership comes in - but, even the best of leadership will be faced with some bonehead recalcitrant ones
it's never going to be easy in somewhere like Oz or America though, it takes a very very special leader to be top gun at it -and, they really are as scarce as hens teeth.
You do see people with enormous power that if they come out and say 'please jump' then nations actually rise up and jump - but, they would rarely be politicians - I mean people like the Japanese Emperors, the old King of Thailand and perhaps QE 2 - there's not many around who don't have a respect for her - even if the think the concept of Royalty is on the nose.

Macron's speech to the nation the day before lockup - March 16 is being now called 'famous' - and, he got enormous pull from it - even the poms who were Brexteers were doffing their hats to him - and, if they did that - imagine what the frogs were thinking.
Merkel spoke like a champion explaining to Germany about Covid as well - it's a famous speech now.
