re: look at these volumes/gsk liars Glaxo merged with Smith Kline Beechem after SKB had licensed zanamivir from BTA in the late 1990s. Glaxo was into flu vaccines, Relenza was labelled a niche product by the ceo JP Garnier and in 2001 quietly canned. No advertising, no production and certainly no royalties even though they were first of the NAI class of drugs to market and fitted to the virus binding site tightly without the risk of inducing mutations as was expected and has since been confirmed, from Tamiflu.

BTA then sued GSK for breach of contract (which stated GSK would use their 'best endeavours' to promote Relenza to the market). We now know that they were bad-mouthing Relenza in the court documents, they failed to advance alternative delivery mechanisms, they canned earlier trials on intravenous delivery from 1999, they failed even to apply for approval to sell for prophylatic purposes in the US even though trials were successfully completed there in nursing homes. The list goes on.

GSK simply could not be bothered. Now the world needs the drug in massive amounts and Bush has effectively ordered GSK to get cracking as have others governments. Because they are in litigation with BTA, these sales are an embarrassment and so they are LYING AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY to keep BTA in the dark.

Do not be fooled by this tactic. Only with information can the market act sensibly so all such information is being denied us for GSK's ulterior motives. They will not win but will go down fighting. I say let's all help by advertising their scam as widely as possible. Maybe BTA's hands are tied in red tape. Ours are not. Every piece of information we can glean wil help the BTA lawyers in their $430 M suit in the Victorian Supremen Court.
