You seem to forget that the consolidation wont effect the price one ioata, e.g. 1000 shares @ 5c = $500, consolidation 10/1 = 100 shares @ 50c = $500.
Toe mato, toe marto. Both = $500.
Less shares on issue, but price of consolidated share is higher.
