As I understand it the company does gain some tax credits on the losses which were incurred last year, however these will not completely cover the company's tax bill for 05/06.
Another factor which could have a bearing on the cash position of CCI Holdings (CHL) is the sale of their recently rebadged CCI Engineering business. This has for a long time been considered an odd fit to the rest of the company yet is is reportedly worth in the vicinity of $4-5M. If this sale gets off the ground it could yield a cash bonus return to shareholders, although at present the board has other things on their mind with fighting off this t/o bid from CPB.
