On 2 November the document Mir has generously shared indicates the government is looking into clarifying export gas licences for WA.
Before clarification is made public Beach makes a play at Warrego a gas explorer in WA who’s price is clearly kept down as a direct result by their domestic gas policy.
We don’t know what the Government’s clarification will entail but by the tone or the correspondence I suspect it will be relaxed (my opinion only).
Beach and Mitsui are Jv partners in the gas game.
If the policy is relaxed and Stokes was made privy to this early it provided Stokes with a massive strategic advantage to the detriment of all other explorers.
Those are generally the facts and frankly stink to high heaven.

Im minded to do a GIPA application ( FOI ) to the ministers office requesting all documents relating to there domestic gas policy. It would be interesting to see what shows up.

I have previously said having only briefly skimmed the DOM policy i believe it restricts exports to the eastern states. This is unconstitutional as trade between states must be absolutely free ( section 92 ). The constitutional couldn’t be clearer and if taken on in the High Court WA would go down in a screaming heap. Not suggesting for a second it should be done as it’s important to keep the government on side. Nor am I suggesting it’s not a good policy as it’s keeping prices down. It’s just illegal and shows how McGowen is a law unto himself.

Anyway on a lighter note hopefully something positive comes out of this and before any acquisition on Strike. Patience is key and it’s certainly has me feeling boyed as long as favourites aren’t picked again which was utterly deplorable.

so why couldn't something like this work, some sort of gas swap be put in place, the east coast LNG suppliers hold back 10%, 20% or what ever to supply the east coast market & we replace it from the Perth basin, everyone wins, so no need for re-gasify LNG facility on the east coast.
