Some interesting China local news/readings (with Google + myself' translation/interpretation, apologies if not accurate) regarding geothermal energy and their goals etc. (they are all officially announced or published).
* "Geothermal energy" has become the first confirmed specific investment area since the announcement of establishing Xiong'an New Area on 1st April, 2017 by Chinese central government.
......26th April, 2017, afternoon: Xiong'an New Area held the first press conference. Deputy director of the New Area Preparatory Committee Niu Jingfeng said that the new district will start up with an area of 30 square kilometers first, and the planning and design of the district will be for global tender/bidding. This means that the development of Xiong'an New Area is entering a new stage. Recently, the Hebei (
the province where most of Xiong'an area sits) Provincial Party Committee Secretary Zhao Kezhi met with
Sinopec high-level, said that Sinopec's planning of "Geothermal +" of Xiong'an New Area highly matches the Central Government's development strategy/ideas/requirements of the New Area, and the provincial government will fully support it.
Sinopec Star Petroleum Ltd. (
is a clean-energy subsidiary of Sinopec Group specialising in geothermal energy. Setup by State Council in 1996 and later merged to and became a subsidiary of Sinopec in 2000. And the State Research Centre on geothermal energy's technologies/utilisation/application is also located in the company. --- Kalina's future cooperator or competitor in geothermal imo) held an on-the-spot/live meeting in Xiong County, Hebei Province providing research of specific/detailed measures for Xiong'an New Area's "Geothermal +". The company plans to add 10 million square meters of clean energy heating area in Xiong'an New Area in 2017.

Note: geothermal power generation capacity target -
530MW
---------------------------------------------------
Again, completion of Hainan Plant very critical (first MW Kalina in China, though waste heat), in the meantime the power plant in Taufkirchen, Germany (Kalina, Geothermal) hopefully to be completed asap as well. Both plants were inherited from Wasabi and both haven been significantly delayed.
