looking for a new broker

Folks,

Anyone on Hotcopper willing to assist one who is looking for a reliable, safe and efficient online broker?

I have been with the same broker that has passed through various hands (Rivkin, Green, Toronto Dominion etc) which was finally purchased by Comsec and have, through sheer laziness (not to mention stupidity) kept paying twice the minimum brokerage for close on a couple of decades.

So, my main motivation in moving is that I really must start cutting costs.

I have no use for margin loans, short selling, stops etc as I am an investor not a day trader. My portfolio is $1M.

I am just looking for experiences that you may have had with your current broker to ascertain if they look like they don't just talk about client focus but actually practise it.
