Thats very true," have the power to invest in what we want"
A SMSF gives you the opportunity to make a fortune.
Years ago a business friend said to me "spend as much time looking looking after your money as you do making it"
He'd lost a fortune when thinking that others were more capable than himself.
WRONG
They take no responsibility, they just take their fees regardless.
NO 1, find a good accountant who doesn't rip you off and start a SMSF.
Yes, it takes money to make money, but be patient and do some research.
One of the loopholes in the SMSF legislation is that the max Superannuation Cap of $1.7m is dependant on contributions NOT earnings. If the contributions stay below the $1.7m cap then you can make $10's millions in capital gains and earnings.
If you're young you have many years to do it and the money will slowly accumulate and the only fees you'll pay is to the accountant and for the audit annually. The other Superannuation funds will rip you off year after year.
Don't chase the latest woke green crap, look at stocks that have growth potential that are undervalued.
