Personally I find for sports the better quality Plasma's kill the LCD's.
Suck a bit more power than the LCD's but the blackness of the black (real contrast not just 'dynamic contrast' and no laggy effects in fast paced motions outweighs this negative.
Panasonic 42" the ones around the $2.5k mark. I think there has just been a model changeover this month.
