in a row, either. But that's what it has done - taking the
average fund down 33%...and the S&P 500 down 43%.

calculates that the odds of another down year are much
higher than people think. Stocks rarely go down 3 years in
a row, he points out. But after 3 years of falling prices,
the following year is a loser in one out of two cases.
