Remember that gross short number for last Friday. When the net short data drops iin several days (on Thursday) calculate the change in net shorts between last Thurs and last Friday. That will give you last Friday's net short delta. From thetr you will be able to subtract the ASX's gross shorts for last Fri (published today). The difference will be short positions that have been covered-off before the T+4 reporting -- usually very ST trading (think day trading churn) by shorters.
