The Central bankers can create money out of thin air and do so all the time. This money has to go somewhere and it generally goes into hard commodities like Gold, Silver and oil as the market knows it needs to put these new dollars into something which is actually tangible. So I'm used of the markets reaction now and like the old say goes "if you can't beat them than join them", thats why the majority of my holdings are commodities based. There will come a time when something else will be the better investment, I just haven't found it yet. Too much money printing going on to force me to look any where else.
Apparently BHP is cancelling an number of it's projects and laying of a shed of staff to reduce costs.
