Great post Adaltiora (as always). I am a little less sanguine about a takeover. If one came in the next couple of months, I'd be rope-able. I think a merger would be great, but as you said...egos. I wouldn't be adverse to WGO being taken out, preferably not by Beach or Mitsui (don't want them snookering us). I can see capital raising being an issue for WGO, and I would prefer that not to be an issue for us, as it will unfortunately effect the Strike share price (the tail will wag the dog to some degree).
But yes, in the longer-term we are sitting pretty.
As a silly aside, I actually had a bad dream last night about a tandem takeover offer being made for both Strike and Warrego. It ended with me screaming on hotcopper... "Don't sell you fools. Don't sell." The sub-conscious is a weird thing.
