2001 – WPL decide to offer its expertise to West Africa in Mauritania - and discovered Chinquetti
2003 – Woodside boasted Chinquetti at 123m barrels and was carrying out appraisals
2004 – Hunt Oil took up some Senegal acreage…Where’s WPL - still dealing/appraising in Mauritania
Jan 2006 – FAR take up 30% interest in Senegal from Hunt and contribute to 2086km2 3d Seismic…where’s WPL?...they commence production from Chinquetti believing they have 123m barrels
Nov 2006 – FAR continuing support and CSEM at Senegal…where’s WPL?... they are busy cutting 2P resources at Chinquetti from 123m barrels to 53m barrels (good appraisal work!)
January 2007 – Another big move for WPL as they
cut Chinquetti 2P resources to 34m barrels (yep great appraisal drilling!!)
September 2007 – FAR continues to support Senegal…where’s WPL - It all gets too hard and they sell out of Mauritania (to Petronas) and return to Australia with tail between its legs
March 2009 – FAR cut a deal with Shell to do some CSEM on Senegal for a possible 70% farm in…Where’s WPL?... still licking its wounds in Australia!
August 2009 – FAR king hit by Shell who decide to cut and run from Senegal but…– FAR stay the course and continue to support Senegal…where’s WPL ?... still licking its wounds in Australia!
September 2009 – Hunt Oil now bolt…FAR take up full 90% share and commit to move forward. Where’s Woodside?...you guessed it, still licking its wounds in Australia!
December 2012 – WPL enter Leviathan in Israel. Where’s FAR??...Still believing and working in Senegal
March 2013 – FAR working hard in Senegal and negotiate a farm in with Cairn. Where’s WPL?... not interested - still stuffing around in Israel!
August 2013 – FAR then negotiate a farm in with COP. Where’s WPL?...not interested – still stuffing around in Israel!
2014 – FAR starts drilling in Senegal…Where’s Woodside?...not interested – busy
cutting and running from Leviathan!
2015 – FAR stands with appraisal drilling in Senegal at the same time as helping the schools and Senegal kids…where’s WPL?...not interested – busy preparing a doomed offer for Oil Search!
December 2015 – FAR continues appraisal drilling at Senegal…where’s WPL?...not interested – busy
cutting and running from Oil Search!
2016 – WPL – who failed at Chinquetti, failed at Levathian, failed at Oil Search…but now want to come back to West Africa and offer their expertise!!
2017 - Hmmm? Wonder what the outsider...Gov’t of Senegal is thinking?
