I can't believe the Murdoch press, newspaper on Saturday is all Today Tonight about the licence fee that is due to be refunded to TAH & TTS.
Rubbishing on about how there isn't the money in the budget to repay the licence fees and that the companies should take a moral stance and not pursue the money that is owed to them.
What a crock it was. Firstly, TAH & TTS paid the licence fee with the understanding that it would be refunded if their contracts were not renewed. Secondly, the ALP tried to find a loophole to try and renege on the contractual arrangement that the government had with the companies. Thirdly, if the money isn't there to pay TAH & TTS it is the former government's fault for not honouring the terms of the contract so why should TAH & TTS (and their shareholders) suffer?
