The first project for IETS is likely to be Lake Dianchi in Kunming Province. Extensive trials have taken place there and Phoslock has exceeded all expectations of the Chinese authorities for the removal of phosphorus.
Engineering work on sewerage treatment works has begun to allow Phoslock to be used as a substitute for alum and other aluminium based products, all of which have adverse environmental side effects.
