management seem to be getting a tough time here for playing a straight bat on the speeding ticket. To make the assumption that they haven't even considered fluffing up their response is harsh. These guys have been around listed companies and understand the different strategies you can take with announcements, not everyone operates with that immediate need to satisfy now when in the longer term it's coming anyway.
GV has been very clear and honest with any communications I have heard, so I suspect he isn't into creating a stir unless he has clear reason.....and to be fair, when he has news he jumps on a plane to come and discuss with anyone prepared to listen.
Perhaps he might be on a plane shortly after he has made an announcements direct to his shareholders as opposed to via the ASX.
