PRINCIPAL ACTIVITY
Straits Resources Ltd (SRL) is a minerals exploration, development and mining
company, involved in the production of coal and copper. The company is focused
on the production of coal from Sebuku in Indonesia and the development of copper
producing operations at Whim Creek.

SEBUKU COAL (80%): Sebuku is located in Kalimantan in Indonesia and produces
approximately 2Mt per annum of saleable thermal coal from open cut operations.
Reserves as at 31 December 2002 were estimated at 7.81Mt of recoverable coal for
6.54Mt of saleable coal. Resources were estimated at 10.7Mt.

WHIM CREEK: The Whim Creek project is located near Port Hedland in the Pilbara
region in Western Australia. Feasibility studies have estimated that the project
will be able to produce 55,000t of LME Grade A copper cathode over 6 years,
using the plant relocated from Girilambone. Total start up and working capital
requirements have been estimated at $20m. Reserves and resources as at 31
December 2002 were 6.6Mt @ 1% Cu for 64,000t Cu and 17.43Mt @ 0.9% Cu for
157,000t Cu.

SALT PROJECT: In August 2003, SRL stated that the company had commenced scoping
studies to evaluate the viability of developing a new solar salt project on the
Eastern Margin of the Exmouth Gulf in WA.

OTHER PROJECTS: Cowra (earning 70%): Located in central NSW and prospective for
copper/gold.

Tottenham (51% earning 60%): Located in western NSW. Drilling has intersected
20m @ 2.1% Cu and 0.4g/t Au.

Bushranger: Located near Oberon in NSW. Drilling has returned 60m @ 0.6% Cu.

Kingston: Located in the Eastern Goldfields of WA and prospective for gold,
silver and nickel.

Kuda Gold: Located in West Java in Indonesia and prospective for gold.

Mt Muro: In April 2003, SRL entered into an agreement to acquire a 70% interest
in a JV to redevelop the Mt Muro gold project, located in Kalimantan in
Indonesia.

Girilambone: Production of copper from the operations near Nyngan in NSW ceased
in July 2003.

INVESTMENTS: Tritton Resources Limited (TRL, 58.21%): TRL holds the Tritton
Copper Project, purchased from SRL in 2002. The feasibility study was favourably
completed in the June 2003q. As at July 2003, financing was expected to be
completed in October 2003.
