geez jazzmox . qantas buy oil in the future for a fixed price and they pay a premium for that . so if you paid a premium on the hdge to combat rising oil price and oil falls below the locked hedge you do your $$ . kapish the 44 is spent . also i was told aviation fuel is not as volatile as crude price anyway .
