The Chinese are clearly concerned about the situation in Guinea regarding the impact of their mining investments (and IMO it's great that they are so preoccupied they published a mind dump) but there is a element of confidence in their outlook that Simandou will get up and for the sake and well-being of the Guinean people and whoever forms the new government. China in the quest to rid dependence on Oz will likely bend over backwards (and forwards a bit) for the new regime to ensure Simandou is all smooth sailing.

Back of envelop maths suggests the combined output from Guinea, IO Triangle and the smaller but still significant deposits in places like Sierra Leone (in production) and Liberia could displace the bulk of the imports from the Pilbara.

As for Sangha, I think China will throw everything including the proverbial kitchen sink at it to ensure immediate project commencement in light of the Guinea coup. Everyday day Sangha doesn't happen the political risks increases exponentially and potentially just a heartbeat away (Biya soon 89 years old WTF) from it all being undone.
