Burning high quality Australian coal before, say, low quality German Lignite, will minimise global CO2.
To minimise global CO2, we should burn all Australian high quality coal first while the world still burns coal.
AGL is being hijacked by a green/woke agenda that is only economic based on government subsidy and will saddle Australia with high cost energy that will not meet baseload demands.
Germany is presently re-opening up lignite coal power, and nuclear. Germany spent Euro580bn on solar and wind in the last 20 years, which produces less than one quarter of their energy needs. Had Germany spent that money on nuclear, they would be totally energy independent now, and not be reliant on imported gas/LNG.
We need new rules and regulation around low dose radiation controls for nuclear which is land and resource efficient (including waste storage), low cost, CO2 free power.
AGL is looking like the company that will fall apart to nothing, proving these points. Michael Cannon Brookes could well turn out to be an entirely loose cannon.
