This is the folly of Poll voting powers in a listed public company brought on by the Institute of directors conning Treasury to amend the Corp Act. Simply altered the the voting method to protect their own rewards and now the BOD have to deal with wealthy radicals.
Even if the masses of AGL shares wanted to protect the previous board they simply were denied this option by this stupid voting system.
We need a new voting system that gives more rights to the majority of shareholders than a few wealthy one’s!
That doesn’t mean denying the institutions or wealthy ones from having the ears off the board or management team but their suggestion is simply that and nothing more! The vote should be based on the majority of shareholders and not on a shareholder’s holdings!
