Not sure myself. There was not 7,119,965 shares traded on the 8/12/15.
My thought is that the shares may have been bought back over several days to close their short positions and the earlier reports may be incorrect.
I think the recent share price fall is due to a major shareholder selling their position with few buyers.
I would think that if shorters are beginning to close their positions they think that the stock wont fall much further and will take profits or that good news may be on the horizon.
