The management of DFT is now virtually that of the previously private Perth company Eftel which backdoored thru DFT late last year.
Eftel was put together, by 3 brothers who have a long history in computer retailing in Perth, by drawing together a large number of small WA based ISP's to create a sort of co-op that combined had "critical mass" The 'co-op' (Eftel) then set about putting together a prospectus for listing in its own right, but because of a disinterested market at the time & also because of difficulties between the various owners of the individual 'co-op' subentity owners (power plays)the float got bogged down.
An opportunity to backdoor float thru the 'barely walking dead' DFT presented a window of opportunity for Eftel to move forward.
Since the backdooring, the management of DFT has been slowly modified to reflect the new ownership structure of approx 80% Eftel (escrowed till Dec) & 20% DFT shareholders.
With one of the brothers assuming the role of chairman it would seem that the brothers have wrestled control but that may well be challenged once the escrowed shares hit the market.
So what we may be seeing is one or more factions within the 'co-op' trying to add to their escrowed block of shares with the aim of either keeping control (in the case of the brothers) or taking control (in the case of disgruntled 'minor' co-op members)
This would explain why about 20% of the tradeable shares have changed hands over the past 4 days with little apparent profit taking.
As for the fundamentals, they don't have the cash or access to cash to become national infrastructure players in wireless access as suggested by another poster. - The wireless side of the co-op (RadioWan) has been going for years and has only a very small footprint in WA - (cost of line of site relay points is great & has to be met before signing any customers)
Up to the individual whether the take a nice windfall profit from having lucked onto this possible power or hold for a longer term (maybe) gain
