Since it is so easy for EVs to have acceleration way beyond what the majority of drivers have ever experienced most will be fitted with driver aids. Even if they are not legislated in most manufacturers will realise the publicity and legal downside of one of their vehicles ploughing down some pedestrians or landing in someone's lounge room because granny's foot slipped off the brake onto the go pedal (or joystick).
Like it or not it will be too dangerous for the great unwashed to have full control of our vehicles so that will be taken away, if we are allowed to drive it will become more like a video game except you won't be allowed to crash. Just imagine the chaos when a decent solar flare lets loose or a malicious hacker wants some entertainment.
