Building on from MB's point. I have stated before,
If our LoM is 20years, and we make (arbitrary number to demonstrate point) $300m year profit and another company with higher tonnage but lower grade and less economical overall makes $100m, but their LoM is 100 years, who do you invest in?
Yes the other company technically has a higher NPV but in the 'ST' (20years...) BGS is the superior investment every time.
Plus going to give you an even better return when you factor in the likely mc comparisons ie BGS is between 1/4-1/9 the MC of competitors
No brainer.
