The Japanese industrialists have multiple RE irons in the fire Sojitz and Lynas is only one. The fact remains at some point Lynas is going to have to default on the $1/2billion debt imo.The only chance to avoid this is if the creditors basically write of the debt or extend it indefinitely for free!
Sojitz could easily be contracted by JARE to take over the entire company and operate it directly if it comes to that. In any event without good profits no LT retail investor is likely to benefit.
