There is no lateral evidence of a takeover in play by stealth. The share volumes since the first DD announcement have totalled the following:
JUL05 = 2.9M
AUG05 = 4.3M
SEP05 = 3M
OCT05 = 16M
NOV05 = 7.4M
DEC05 = 8.4M
JAN06 = 6M
FEB06 = 8.9M
MAR06 = 1.5M to date

That's 61.4M since JUL05 (in 8+ months), suggesting an annualised rate of 90M (on current average speed), or 110M since the DD announcements (41M pre announcements).

On this basis, SLX trading in fy06 has been a tail (to date) of 2 halves - pre-DD, and post-DD.

Post-DD trading volumes have been up by a factor of 200-250% over the pre-DD volumes (rated @100%).

But even so, this amounts to 2/3-80% of SLX's total issued share base.

What's occurred to date has been increased excitement brought about by a shortage of stock, proximity to a 'company making' decision being made, and the conjunction of a number of projects. Also- external factors such as:

global energy demand running hot;
2/
U being talked about as a strong and viable emissions friendly alternative;
3/
global U being actively embraced whereas it has been politically mothballed for the last 20-30 years;
4/
global telecoms demand running hot;
5/
convergence running hot (and heading towards critical certainty);
6/
the need for innovative new solutions to counter the finite qualities of Moore's law (of which T is all too aware).

As for SLX's U technology - this is really 3rd generation (there is no such thing as 4th generation) after gaseous diffusion, and centrifuge. But, in any event, the remainder of the article is broadly relevant /valid.
