I am quite possibly missing the point. We are certainly not looking at this similarly.
My point is banks, or any lending institution that uses credit rating data, will not support or use data that is not complete. They need to compare apples with apples when assessing where their credit/money goes; so they need confidence that my credit rating is based on the same data inputs as person y's.
It is only the credit score part that I am raising issue with.
