Steve you cannot blame the airline just because it was there. It was at an altitude which was out of range of any ground launched missile system ....other than a Buk. The flight path was open for commercial traffic and was a popular route. There were many other commercial aircraft in close proximity at the time using the same flight path, MH17 was the unlucky one. No blame should be pointed at the airline.
