Viability depends on who is paying. Sorry I can't remember how much we want to do Australia - but it is cheap.

I personally think Australia would be mad not to fund it - I think we as a nation would get a return in spades (flying the whole country every year).
I think it should be an absolute priority for Australia to do this NOW - it will give us a hell of a jump on other countries.
We will go to Europe after Aust. I suspect then probably the US - I don't know when Asia and South America or Africa would be done - but we would sure have the jump on them.

Here is an example I can think of for somewhat remote areas for value add for a nation or a state ----

After the Vic bushfires, I can't remember how many hundred - but more than 200 comes to mind - more than 200 unknown old gold workings were exposed after the bush burnt.
Now these are only the ones seen sofar ------- imagine if the vic. govt. had commissioned ipr to fly this straight after the fires - my guess is that we would have done it for somewhere between $100k and $500k (I might be wrong - only a guess). We would of course then make money from govt. departments using the licence to view and of course if advertising is up on the site at that stage - revenue from all those clickers on ads - and I would say that after a photo run of a gold area after a big bushfire - prospecting shops would be stark raving mad not to have a link on the site - imagine all the blipper people salivating at the chance to be first to an unknown site with a modern detector :)

Just imagine what info. you can get from high quality air photos of ground you haven't seen before in high value mineral country - to a prospector/miner it beggars belief.

Remember, Lang Hancock found his first iron ore mine on the ground - all the rest he found from a light plane.

The whole planet is a different matter - if you mean land only , I would say yep but I can't see much point in doing it over the ocean - there maybe, but I just can't see it at present - and it would have to be something other than a small plane.
