I'm well aware they're not fond of each other but there is money to be made here and BRU obviously want to protect "their" play which is all over Derby, not just bleeding into it.. Backreef ended up a bust after not hitting 270mmbbl so they probably did BRU a favour in the end anyway.
I wouldn't be surprised if BRU/MITSU farmed into OBL's half of the Derby block too for seismic and a drill or two. They are the most likely candidate now (I had always assumed BRU would come on board for Derby in some capacity as it was basically a large chomp out of their baby).
