re: copper buyers returning for q4 Oxiana has repeatedly been tipped a takeover target for the likes of local lead and zinc major Zinifex and Swiss mining giant Xstrata, but added to the mix yesterday was talk that US miner Phelps Dodge was planning a bid.
All three predators were on traders' lips yesterday as Oxiana chief executive Owen Hegarty was flying back from the annual London Metal Exchange conference in London, a dinner and talk-fest renowned for deal-making.
