To odds and sods: Ventracor had lobbed a legal letter at pending heart device float HeartWare to "cease and desist from all infringing commercial activities" although Ventracor subsequently said it would be "prepared to withdraw its letter if the company enters into negotiations in regard to a potential cross-licence of patents prior to Christmas, 2004". (Just before the HeartWare float, in fact.)
HeartWare's device is a third the size of Ventracor's it has medical form on its board.
