Well this was looking pretty grim for a while, i.e.   A competing magnetic based personal skin care product from L'Oreal..

Good news! this is no competition for OBJ based technology at all.  The magnetism is used strictly for communication from one of many different brush heads to the device.  Basically a way for the brush head to tell the handle I'm brush 'A', not 'B' or 'C'.
