Merryl Lynch has upgraded its forecast for oil this year to US$41. Could well be on the low side - but finally it's starting to click - oil is not going back to $10 and $20 a barrel.
Profit reports are coming out this week from the big multinational oilers like Chevron etc. They will be huge.
The oilers still trade on very low PEs compared to most stocks in the Dow, Nasdaq etc. This could be about to change as the markets come to grips with their massive profits and bright profit outlook.
This will then lead to a huge rerating for our leading oilers.
