Decisions are made using a risk-reward or cost-benefit analysis....

Decisions are made using a risk-reward or cost-benefit analysis. Greenies look at isolated examples, or minor risks and focus solely on that. Good thing they are not the ones that make the final call. The equivalent in terms of travel would be people protesting an end of aeroplanes and to revert back to boats as recent events show planes are NOT safe. Lives have been lost. Lets put a stop to this madness and ban all flights!

Thats where they come from. They are small minded and already dismissed by people like Obama and Cameron.

Even car transport has a risk, and lives are lost around the world every day for the convenience of travelling in a car.

Rational, logical assessment of unconventional gas leads one to where USA is and is going from strength to strength producing more and more unconventionals.

Thats where the real pressure will be from, as USA will become more attractive to base business, will grow jobs, population, gdp; while any area sticking with importing gas and using coal will be uncompetitive. Chemical industries have been the first to feel the pinch in the EU, unable to compete with US chemical producers.

Shale will happen in the UK. Cameron knows the cost-benefits and has already made the decision. The rest is left to play out. Highly unlikely dte will find its licences miss all the sweet spots, most likely we will have a number of them and be worth closer to a billion once the gas starts flowing. (my opinion only etc)
