There is really no reason to play the speccies, as the "so called blue chips" will return you a good result. Since spending a lot of time studying the market and actually having a business plan in place along with a set of guidelines (not rules), I have acheived a 20% return on my money in 4 months. This equates to 60%pa. I still have money for trading in lesser companies (ie ELX, BSO etc) which I only trade in 2-3 times a year.
A lot of people on this site seem to be gamblers (although they prefer to call themselves traders), which is why some 75% of the stock you have mentioned have lost money.
