Islam confuses love and compassion with brainwashing and compliance at all cost. It is the nature of religions at varying degrees, to be dictatorial, tyrannical and reject the notion of human free will.
The JWs and Scientologists are willing to destroy a persons family fabric and personal relationships if a member comes to reject their entire theological package. Muslims will disown and in some jurisdictions they will murder a member who has a change of faith. And to think that these are the people who represent the love of God on earth.
Personally I think religion tends to be the place where real evil gets concentrated so you know the places to avoid.
