An alternative attitude to treasure might be to copy God's instructions as set down in Numbers, Chapter 31.

Send in 12,000 armed troops into someone else's land. "The Israelites captured the Midianite women and children and took all the Midianite herds, flocks and goods as plunder" (Verse 9)

They got away with 675,000 sheep, 72,000 cattle, 61,000 donkeys and best of all 32,000 virgins! Plus you get to keep all the Gold you've pinched providing you give some of the plunder to the church.
