It's interesting to recall the anecdote some time back by a poster (name?) (but I can't remember whether it was on the BUL thread or RLE's) of the gas company takeover that occurred finally during the 2008 GFC meltdown … A spectacular outcome. Reminding us, typical M&A/takeover etc. activity can occur when share markets are almost, or are, on the turn.
Needless to say, when the big fish have been experiencing good times with high commodity prices for some time and are feeling nice and cashed up, they are more likely to satisfy their hunger/acquisition needs. That side of the yarn from the past stacks up and we may well be living that out here with BUL and others. There are far fewer targets now than in 2007/2008, so when the feeding starts, little will probably be left when it's done.
Any thoughts on this from those experienced in the caper?
