Current processes can’t utilise iron-rich fines and wastes without expensive pre-processing.Is normally called Sintering. It's been around since Adam was a boy. Cook fines in a pot at 1200 for a couple hours and hey presto; pellets for a retort. I'm being a bit simplistic.
What's wrong with it it consumes bucket loads of energy and of course there are the emissions.
Matmor as you rightly nominate prefers fines. Fines if you don't know pass through a 6mm mesh. Fines are a huge problem, for every two tonnes of pellets there are one tonne of fines.
Fines are usullay sold at significant discount to naturally mined pellets. If Matmor gets up and running and steel makers start ordering fines what to the price of iron ore pellets.
