Point taken Jaded, and lets use 10% PA as the minimum you would expect from any investment over a long period. Investment doubled in 7 years, but inflation is at least 5% so 14 years is the effective doubling time. That is fine as long as you have an enormous capital, and can buy in and not bother with it again until you want out in x years time.
I find I have the time in my life to research 3 stock continually, and make judgement calls on exiting, increasing stake, averaging down etc. For that kind of time outlay I would expect 150-200% per year profit.
So for 3 speccies I would expect 1 to go down so -15% (stop loss capital protection), 1 to at least break even or perhaps 50% gain, and 1 to increase 300-500%.
