That's up to you. Do your own research and back yourself. I do think it's worth finding junior (small cap) stocks that you understand, that you reckon have a good chance, then being patient.
If you have a big failure, you lose your $500. If you have a big success, the sky's the limit (which makes it very different from betting, where you'll never be as well-informed and even if you get lucky the gains are fixed). If you had invested in LPD a few weeks ago, your $500 would now be $3500 and if you're like many of the people posting here, you may be staying invested and looking at the long term.
