Given the volume, it's not unexpected to have gone up a couple of pips.
The nature of supply and demand, eh?
I just went over the last year on the chart and every day with similar volume to today saw the price lower at close, than at open.
Every time over the past year, as far as I can see.
The nature of supply and demand do not necessarily dictate that a spike in trading volume will result in a spike in price, particularly with so many shares composing the free float.
The prevailing market sentiment plays a significant role in determining which way it will go.
This could easily be a pump/dump.
I haven't disputed that.
It just doesn't seem unreasonable to me, that investors express positive sentiment on a day like today, given the context provided by the last year's worth of trading data.
I personally suspect it's either a pump/dump in the making, or the ship leaking.
I hope its the latter, although it pisses me off either way.
One thing's for sure:

Have a beaut' weekend everyone!
