The reasons we LTHs have for buying in have not changed. The technology is the thing, the Li processing, EVs, battery evolution and mega factories. The Trump/Xi induced GFC does not change any of that... like a constipation ending turd, this too shall pass... the fundamentals remain. The market is skittish and the only money to be made on the market at the moment, maybe, is by gamblers. Those of us without the requisite nerves of steel for day trading are just buying what we can while the price is insanely low. The price to book is just silly. I find it hard to believe that there is so much stock on the sell list. I've run out of cash to buy more. I'm hoping I can win a dollar or two on Powerball on Thursday ($100m) to soak up a tidy parcel without having to wait until my savings re-accumulate while the price is like this.

I was working with a company in West Perth for a few years and I happened to mention to a workmate that I was heading over to Hay Street to buy a Lotto ticket. His comment to me as I was walking out the door was that he believed lottery tickets were a tax on the stupid. Each week thereafter I would tell him I was going out to pay my taxes. I always pay my taxes and am not ashamed to admit that I take an optimistic view on Powerball. The odds are horrendous at 45 * 10^6 : 1 or thereabouts. What the statistical purists fail to acknowledge is that somebody with a ticket wins, while nobody without one does.

Joking aside, I've looked at LPD the way Warren Buffet suggests - do the research, buy undervalued companies, hold long term. This is the opposite of Powerball. I'm not going to win Powerball, but LPD is going to be a win for me. The odds are 1.
