I think another company is very close to making a hostile take over play for GXY.

How does this effect LPD share price?

Make no mistake the announcement yesterday was significant.

$564,398 was traded today on LPD. The net impact was 15% wiped off the market cap of LPD or approx $13.2m.

Think about that for a minute....

A40 was smashed from 20 cents to 8 cents in the matter of weeks and now sits in indefinite suspension pending VA.

No consider the fact that GXY is the major/largest shareholders of both A40 and LPD.

If I wanted to take over GXY as cheap as possible, I will firstly short the stock as much as humanly possible. GXY sits second most shorted stock on the ASX with a total 16.26% shares held short with the share price falling from $4.54 Jan18 to $1.15 today. I would secondly try and reduce the value of any liquid financial assets GXY holds to impact the companies balance sheet. Hence A40 and LPD.

Time will tell but the IMO we are seeing a savage attempt to take control of the Australian hard rock lithium sector.

The regulators IMO at totally asleep at the wheel here...
