One way to tell if your stock is being bought up by day traders is to check this website. Day traders & smart money are looking for maximum gain, in minimal time, with their risk aversion being tightly managed as to not spook the market by having too many naysayers on their threads, for example.

As you can see it's VERY top heavy with 2,956 shareholders who own over 100,000 shares each. That's close to 40% of the total shareholders in LPD holding more than 100,000 shares & even millions of shares each.

The vast majority of stock on the ASX aren't this top heavy, but you will find a few.

If a problem arises, for example too much dilution is occurring, many of those top 40% will be looking for an exit. If close to 3,000 shareholders are looking for an exit & all start slowly dumping their shares you'll need a lot of new buyers coming into the market. When you understand this, you'll understand why LPD's sell side has been so huge for so long, many months now!
