A company completed an updated mineral resource estimate for the Karibib project inNamibia, reporting 8.9 million metric tons of measured and indicated resources containing 0.23% rubidium and302 parts per million cesium. Located in the Karibib Pegmatite Belt, lithium would be the primary product, withcesium, potassium, and rubidium as potential byproducts.

Additionally:

The primary processing plant of rubidium compounds globally, located in Germany, has reportedly operated far belowcapacity for the past few years.

Could this "primary processing plant" be BASF, given that Desert Lion had an MOU with them before our merger? And given that BASF's new Quattro catalyst uses caesium, which could explain their interest in Karibib through Desert Lion?2)Re our patent for the production of caesium, rubidium andpotassium brines and other formates under PCT/AU2019/051024: I tried to read it and even to a layperson, it is clear that this process would not be applicable to brines (i.e., Cornish Lithium's geothermal waters), but improves upon steps in L-Max for leaching out byproducts from micas. If my guess is correct, you already knew this, but were too polite to tell me I was wrong, thinking/hoping this patent could assist CLL with United Downs. Here is the patent, for anyone interested:

Two interesting things came up. Here definitively is the answer to yesterday's question:

[0013] Preferably, the mica rich minerals include lepidolite and/or zinnwaldite.

[0062] It is envisaged that the processes of the present invention are applicable to any lithium bearing mica ores, such as lepidolite, but also including zinnwaldite. Zinnwaldite is a lithium containing silicate mineral in the mica group, generally light brown, grey or white in colour, and having the chemical formula KLjFeA!(AISi3)O10(OH,F)2.Then, at the bottom of the very long page, interestingly, the second to last step says:

[0098] It is envisaged that the feed to the leach at least contains lithium bearing mica but that other components may also be present, including spodumene ore and/or spent lithium battery products. It is further envisaged that the pretreatment step may include roasting.

Because I trust our management, I assumed they had good reason to assist Neometals recently. I wondered what they could be up to? The Reeds have a similar management style to ours, heads down, no fan fare, getting on with the serious business of running their company, also being more interested in future tech possibilities than mining, selling their share of Mount Marion 4 years ago. In my pondering, I could easily imagine conversations between LPD and NMT. One of NMT's many projects is building a battery recycling plant in Germany. Perhaps we will be helping them and thus their use of our pilot plant last quarter?
